It is the name of a person, place or thing including emotions, conditions, feelings etc.

For Example:

Man, City, Book, Table, Chair

Kinds of Noun:

There are five main kinds of noun.

1. Proper Noun

Proper noun is a particular name of a person, place or thing.

For Example:

Ali, Lahore, Australia

2. Common Noun

Common noun is a common name of a person, place or thing.

For Example:

Boy, Girl, City, Hospital

3. Material Noun

Material noun is a name which has its existence and can be seen.

For Example:

Iron, Gold, Sugar, Salt

4. Abstract Noun

Abstract noun is a name which has no physical existence and cannot be seen but can be felt only.

For Example:

Happiness, Anger, Hunger

5. Collective Noun

A noun denoting a group or collection of things of the same kind regarded as one is called collective noun. 

For Example:

Army, Police, Team, Committee
